This position also helps develop, recommend, maintain, and measure compliance to Information Technology policies and procedures utilized company wide. Basic Qualifications (Required): Seven years of IT experience Three years Network engineering experience in an enterprise level environment Advanced level knowledge of IP Routing protocols to include BGP and OSPF Experience supporting and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions Experience in Production Control disciplines and Change Management Minimum Qualifications (Required): Advanced level experience in multivendor routed networks, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6 Advanced level knowledge of Local Area Network Switching technologies Advanced level knowledge of TCP/IP and IP subnetting Experience with network protocol analyzers Preferred Qualifications: BS in Computer Science Effective communication skills, both written and oral Energetic and self-motivated team player with ability to work effectively and cooperatively with project and infrastructure teams Strong working knowledge of proactive and auto-corrective monitoring practices Dimensions: Global MPLS Network: 100+ locations Network Devices: 500+ Accountabilities: The incumbent performs or assists in the installation, upgrade, configuration and administration of Network hardware to including routing and switching equipment. The Network Engineer is responsible for assisting in the documention and implementation of best-practice standards for the administration and management of a global enterprise network and reporting to management the operational status of the network environment. Essential Functions: 1. Assist in the Development and maintainence of Information Technology operational processes and tasks. 2. Configure wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN) routers or related equipment. 3. Install and configure wireless networking equipment. 4. Communicate with telecommunications vendors to obtain pricing and technical specifications for available hardware, software, or services. 5. Collaborate with systems staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes. 6. Work with personnel and facilities management staff to install, remove, or relocate user connectivity equipment and devices 7. Conduct research on software and network products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts. 8. Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for network equipment performance, resource allocation, and data bandwidth utilization growth to recommend enhancements to the IT management team. 9. Perform ongoing hardware and software maintenance operations, including installing or upgrading hardware or software. 10. Create required reports in response to business user needs. 11. Create or update technical documentation for network installations or changes to existing installations. 12. Perform network audits, device configuration backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. 13. Use appropriate tools to review, monitor, and manage schedule project timelines and milestones as required by changing conditions. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed in an office setting; however, incumbent may be required to go into the production or shipping/receiving areas. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Occasional travel may be required to sites within the U. S. Physical Efforts: The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk when moving about the office. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
