*Baltimore MD* *Long Term* The qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting the Office of Quality Improvement (OQI) in designing (physical) and developing a SQL Server database. Experience as a DBA would be helpful. OQI uses SQL Server 2012, and the candidate may need to assist our customer by recommending best practices. Skills Requirements: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and work without supervision. D Database Migration between life cycle phases (development, validation, staging, and prod). SQL Server LINKED Server. Writing dynamic SQL. Stored procedures and functions (switching between the two). SQL Server database maintenance. Scheduling database jobs using SSIS packages. Writing database queries based on requirements. Query optimization, performance tuning and SQL Profiler. Backups, restores, and clustering. Analyzing, reviewing, and altering existing programs to increase operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements. Providing technical and operational expertise and leadership to the SSA team. Recommending, constructing, and implementing policies, procedures, and guidelines in the development and delivery of database solutions to the client. Providing guidance to a cross-functional team, and acting in a consulting capacity. Conducting the formulation of solutions to customer problems based on prior experience and hands-on understanding of how the database supports SSA goals. Documenting software. Expertise with Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Experience with JavaScript, C#, and Visual Studio.NET would also be helpful, but not required. *Hadoop Developer* *Atlanta, GA* *6+months* Roles & Responsibilities: 8-10 years experience in developing software applications including: analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications. Proficient in application/software architecture (Definition, Business Process Modeling, etc.). Project Management experience. Experience building Big Data solutions using Hadoop technology. Extensive experience with software development and the complete software lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, testing, quality assurance). Ability to work with non-technical resources on the team to translate data needs into Big Data solutions using the appropriate tools. Extensive experience developing complex MapReduce programs against structured and unstructured data.
