Description



The Senior DBA/developer will provide day to day technical support to the
development team on a variety of corporate projects. This role will assist
development team with building and enhancing applications related to
reinsurance. Incumbent will be responsible for the support and maintenance
of the TRIPPS data base[s]; as well as for key deliverables through the
project life cycle from requirements, design, implementation and production
maintenance.



    Gather and analyze requirements

    Research ideas and new technologies to support requirements

    Implement prototypes based on functional specifications

    Create and enhance internally developed applications

    Write new and modify database stored procedures

    Produce user guide and system documentation

    Work together with other developers and network group to deploy
reliable applications

    Install SQL Server instances

    Configure SQL Server for optimum performance

    Setup and manage automated backup for SQL Server data and  transaction
logs

    Recover database to a point in time

    Monitor and interpret SQL Server Error logs

    Implement performance optimized physical data models

    Design and implement indexes to improve query performance

    Design and implement partitioned tables

    Implement and manage AlwaysOn Availability Groups

    Maintain and rebuild indexes

    Maintain SQL Statistics

    Implement SQL Server security

    Manage SQL Server storage - monitor free space, expand space add  files
and filegroups

    Write complex TSQL queries

    Write and debug stored procedures

    Write, debug, and automate complex SSIS packages

    Performance tune queries and procedures

    Read SQL Server query plans

    Debug deadlocks

    Use SQL Server Profiler and Perform to analyze performance issues



Requirements



    7 years’ experience with SQL Server including SQL Server 2012

    7 years’ experience with SQL Server including SQL Server 2012

    Experience with very large SQL Server d BS or equivalent databases - 2
TB or more

    BS or equivalent

    Experience with .Net Framework and MS Windows Architecture

    Proficient in software development life cycle

    Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

    Experience with Catastrophe Modeling a plus

    Experience with very large SQL Server databases - 2 TB or more

    BS or equivalent

    Proficient in software development life cycle

    Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

    Experience with Catastrophe Modeling a plus
