 *Position: SENIOR DB2 **/ DBA*

*Location: NYC, NY*

*Duration: 6 Months*

*Job Overview:*



Opening in the US in non-metro center for a SENIOR DB2/DBA
Operations/application prog for the MF engineer team. The successful
candidate will work from home. This is not a role for a Application
Developer.



*Duties & Responsibilities:*



   - Duties will include
      - Working with DB2/DBA teams to support both the Institutional and
      Retail side of  Morgan Stanley
      - Coordination with various internal and external Infrastructure teams
      - On call support rota



*Skill, Experience & General information Required:*



   - Broad experience as a mainframe DB2 DBA
   - Experience with DB2, version 10 or higher
   - Experience supporting a multi-terabyte environment
   - Experience supporting high throughput OLTP applications
   - Experience supporting applications within a DB2 data sharing
   environment
   - Logical and physical database design skills
   - Proficiency in application related performance and tuning, including
   extensive SQL coding tuning
   - TSO and Mainframe JCL
   - DB2 utility and maintenance suite
   - Proficiency in the use of DB2 monitoring tools (DB2PM, Insight,
   Omegamon, Detector, etc)
   - Proficiency in the use of DB2 object management tools (RC/Migrator,
   IBM Object Compare, etc.)
   - Knowledge of REXX and DB2Connect
   - Working knowledge of DB2 C and SQL stored procedures
   - Ability to resolve Production DB2 issues quickly and effectively
   - Effective utilization and monitoring of DB2 DASD resources
   - Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for management
   reporting purposes
   - Knowledge and understanding of an SDLC development lifecycle
   - Working knowledge of application development/debugging tools (Data
   Studio, Visual Explain, etc.)
