As one who is involved in IEEE standards, I am interested in hearing more on this, Mike. Do you have any more information? What state or local area are you referring to here? Jim On Wednesday 31 May 2006 02:14, Mike Millet wrote: > I've had 2 friends of mine who are electricians say that the el

This would explain why I started seeing wire strippers with labeling in mm.  It would be great news.  This to a degree is the case in computer networking.  IEEE defined cable length limitations in meters, so everyone is familiar with the maximum 100 m length of an ethernet wire.  Network engineers

I don't have any more info on this and I wish I did. As far as the networking cables go I learned the 100m limit and on jobs where I've had separate cable pullers I've run up into that 328ft limit as well, although most of the younger cable pullers I've dealt with are perfectly comfortable using me

The architects design almost solely in metric already from what I've heard it's the guys that draw up the floor plans who convert it back to USC and then the builders work off those plans.I talked to a drafter the other day and asked him if he had switched to using metric as most of the architects

There was a program on the Science Channel a few days ago dealing with the possibility (or impossibility) of terraforming Mars.  The commentator said that one effect being discussed could raise the temperature on Mars by as much as 20°C or 68°F. Dual unit confusion once more. Vigen, Gary w
