And the opposit: Costco has prices per unit(US Customary units), supposedly for
comparison. Sometimes the units used are not exactly the same and it is close
to impossible to compare prices for two similar items.

from my personal experience, learning us custom after metric is not a problem
at all (but using it is much less convenient than metric system)
what worries me the most is that US custom system doesn't develop a habit and
skill in kids (and adults) to do calculations and scaling in their heads.
The math/science education worries me the most.
Unless metric is the primary measurement reported on packaging, road signs,
weather forecast, etc., it will stay foreign language for the kids. Kids pick
up things very quickly, and no effort will be needed to get them used to metric

Actually Louis Sokol was right when he called the system we use the junk

i think "US Customary" is better than "Imperial"
so, I like any of the options:
US Customary and Metric
or
US Customary and Standard (too good to be true to see it today on usps.com, in
reverse order - event better)
or
US Customary and The Rest of The World ( ;-) )

Eight 240 mL cups should not be equal to two liters.

sometimes there is no "choice" to use metric. It would be so refreshing to see

Dear US
I visualize a kilometer as something you can cover by walking during 1/5 of an
hour ~10 min (since 5 km/h is the average walking speed), 100 meters is a
distance we ran in school, which fit on strait side of the school stadium

The
metric range is frankly easier to use.
The very odd amount would make me think the recipe was originally metric. and I

Another reason to move to metric is to be able to use calculators. since
calculators are 10 based, it makes it instant to figure out how many marks on
the ruler 0.27 is. In metric countries a third grader will tell you that right
away, but in US it takes some time for a spe
