FYI
Some exchanges I had with our "imperial" Web-master.

I thank you for your prompt reply.

I fully agree that one should satisfy the audience or customers's preferences. The
issue that I find is that you are NOT a private company.

You are there as a federal agency of the Canadian Government and are sponsored by the
Canadian taxes and obey the Canadian laws like all of us do.

You do not need to show ratings to your advertisers.
You are there to provide a *service to the Canadian public*. Therefore, I see no
reason for satisfying the US visitors's requests. If they want Imperial units they can
find a hanfull of US sites displaying ONLY that.

Many Canadian stores have a certain affluence of US customers. For example the Duty
Free shops at the border. Are they displaying pounds and ounces? No. They obey the
Canadian laws since they are on Canadian soil like the US ones are on US properties.

I believe that your attitude is a shame for any Canadian showing that we always bend
our rules to satisfy any wishes our Big Brother may have.

I urge you to remove the option and I restate that you are a service provider to the
Canadian tax payer and not a for-profit organization.
