You may be confusing accuracy with precision.
 
Tenths of degrees F is more precise than tenths of degrees C because a degree C is more course than F.
 
Accuracy depends of the instrument used.

Neither. Are feet more accurate than miles? Accuracy is a property of the thermometer, not of the temperature scale. Can anyone notice a temperature difference of 1 degree F?
