How can we hope to get the metric system across to journalists if they prove

I saw a column in our paper the other day in which the journalist quoted the
price of gasoline as being $2.38.9 per gallon. A number with two decimal
points?

Who gets this idiot properly dressed in the morning and points him towards
his place of employment?
