Dear Sir:
We have several thousand deaths per year from
medical errors made because of the use of US customary units in some aspects of
medicine. (Refer to the CDC website for more details on deaths particularly
amongst children from these types of mistakes or do a web search.) Your
organization I understand objects, the words I have heard used are strongly, to
metric only packaging.
I would appreciate your advice as to whether
1. your membership follows a code of ethics
2. if so, how do you reconcile your code of ethics with the death of children in the US from mistakes made using the US customary units system in medicine when it is commonly acknowledged that a change would save lives.
3. what value does your organization place on human life.
4. how do you reconcile the provision of medical products in one part of your store in metric and milk in US customary units.

Perhaps you have never attended a funeral for a
child that has died as a result of a medical error. It is very harrowing. I
suggest that your board consider this matter.
