I don't like hardware that fails. I build my machines and my hardware doesn't fail. And if it is for my wife, I would not compromise, I would give her the very best. Sure, you could buy a Hell with a warranty, but it's not worth it to me. Downtime costs money. I know HP used ASUS motherboar

If you don't like Dell, then I would recommend HP, although my experience has been 6's with both, they both have their pros and cons, but I've only worked on their enterprise (not consumer) level products.
