Scons is no longer supported, and last time somebody submitted a
FreeBSD-related change they did no complain about build

looks like my gcc is old, I'll try upgrading versions.

Which version of GCC are you using? (Output of 'gcc -v') GCC 4.4 is what we
use on a daily basis and is the only "officially supported" version.
