Junior Software Build Manager
6+months contract
Greensboro, NC
$30/hr (C2C) MAXIMUM

Job Description:
Purpose of Job: This is a technical position serving as a software
build manager reporting directly to the manager of Release Management
in Information Technology & Services. Successful candidates for this
position will have previous build management experience in a complex
J2EE environment. This person will work closely with our
Infrastructure, Development, Quality Assurance, and Release Management
teams to ensure the successful delivery of mission critical
applications as part of our application migration and deployment
process.

Job Functions/Responsibilities (List in order of importance):
*Promote code releases to production.
*Review new and changed code, track and audit change histories, debug
build and runtime problems and maintain a build process to support
ongoing projects, implementations and testing efforts.
*Monitor release branches in the source control system.
*Build and sanity test release bundles in various non-production environments.
*Administer all software required to create stable application builds
for promotion to production
*Provide detailed reporting to upper management in regard to release status.
*Establish and maintain working relationships with Tech Leads and
Infrastructure Owners.
*Design and document improvements to our scalable, automated,
integration/build/test/release processes.

Typical Minimum Education:
*B.S. in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience
with Associates Degree

Typical Minimum Experience:
*5+ Years of experience

Describe: Extensive experience in software engineering, release
engineering, and/or configuration management.  Possesses a
professional certification(s) related to software development and/or
release management.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
*Configuration, maintenance and utilization of release management
tools and/or source control systems
*Build management tools
*Verbal and Written communication skills
*Time management, planning and organizing skills
*Process design and documentation
*Matrix line management
*Ability to build working relationships with peers and matrix team members

Proficient:
*Ability to work with a sense of urgency
*Ability to adapt easily to change
