But will look at candidates from elsewhere* * * *My client is seeking a senior developer with a minimum of 5 years of development experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum proficiency of 3 years of development in Java, Oracle Database and Telecom. The candidate will also have a minimum of 2 years experience in Perl, UNIX, and SQL. **Please do not submit candidates unless they have solid telecom experience including OSS expertise and general exposure / knowledge of voice and data networks. * *Local candidates preferred. Communication skills must be very strong. *The main responsibilities include development of real-time telecom applications for communicating with the DMS, Sonus and 5E switches. The candidate will provide software support and troubleshoot applications for specific issues and at times may need to be available for 24/7 support. The ideal candidate will also enhance existing applications from customer specific requirements. Candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Service Activation & Data Provisioning applications that use Metasolv State Table Programming Language for ASAP. Responsibilities will include reviewing user requirements, generating system requirements, coding, testing & deploying functionality in a production environment. Must be self starter and work well under minimal supervision. If the candidate does not have ASAP experience then very strong provisioning knowledge on voice and data networking components will be accepted. Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills! *TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS: * Perl: The candidate will use Perl to develop telecomm scripts that connect to network elements and activate/deactivate interfaces, execute password changes, and perform other simple tasks. UNIX: The candidate will need to perform common tasks such as: File editing, FTPing, crontabs, shell scripts, archiving, and related commands. Telecom: The candidate will have a good understanding of network elements (ideally CISCO and/or JUNIPER), how do they interact with the end user and with each other. Previous experience writing telnet scripts for all types of network switches is a plus! *JAVA: * The candidate must have strong knowledge of Java such as: File Handling, Telnet , Logging ( Log4j ), ANT scripts and String parsing. State-Table Language: The candidate should have knowledge of the Metasolv-ASAP specific language. Exposure to this language, is a plus! Oracle: The candidate will have a strong understanding of SQL (non DBA) such as: String parsing, and date handling functions in Oracle.
