Position : Production Support – Front Office Trading ** Duration : 6+ months
Location : NY Will be Production Support analyst on Fixed Income Bond and Loans trading floor as 1st and 2nd line support to provide an immediate response to traders and salepeople’s needs. Will not melt in front of difficult users. This is trading desk support, so some experience with loans and corporate bonds would be preferred. Will also be able to handle late night calls. Usually around 8-10 hours per day. Tech Skills: ECN market data experience with Client TOMS [TRADE ORDER MGMT SYS?], MARKET ACCESS TRADEWEB OR BONDPOINT. Basic Sql queries to extract data either coming from Sql or Syb adaptive server Some basic understanding of C# and how used since they will be doing some troubleshooting with developers. Will be no development at all. Some exposure to .net type work FIX protocol and CMFT is a plus. *Role Overview: * The support role with Credit Support team involves closely working with the traders in resolving system issues. The candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with the traders and resolve/escalate issues. Production Support (Front Office) *Key Deliverables: * - Support Credit IT applications from business perspective. - Respond to all user issues/queries within published timeframes - Provide first/second line application support including trouble shooting issues, leading technical investigations and supporting mission critical platforms in a demanding 24/7 environment - Accurate incident logging and tracking adhering to published procedures - Produce and maintain support knowledge base and documentation and contribute to the team’s increased ability to service the user base - Formulate solutions to reduce issue impact on the business users - Train colleagues in the ecommerce sphere of knowledge and experience - Share new skills with colleagues - Liaise with internal dev teams as well as vendors to accurately report on incidents requiring software changes - Track dev changes, perform and document testing and manage signoff through to prod release adhering to all necessary compliance Production Support (Front Office) *Qualifications: * - Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate with traders/product control as well as other IT teams. - Knowledge of UNIX, SQL, - Able to perform quickly and accurately in a high pressure and highly dynamic environment whilst adhering to guidelines - Candidate must have attention to detail and have the ability to work independently. - Suitable candidates will be results-oriented and goal-driven self-starters - Exposure to Microsoft Office suite of applications - Unix Solaris, Windows NT, Oracle/Sybase - Previous experience of Trade floor support is essential *MUST HAVE VERY GOOD COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS.
