Although the official user manual[1] does not list
Windows XP among supported host operating systems,
VirtualBox 5.2.6 works in it without a hitch, for
which I am grateful to the developers, and ask them
to amend the manual accordingly.

Personally I like Windows XP a lot, and use on some of my old computers on
a rare occasion, because it's the easiest OS to use by far.
I also use Windows XP intensively as a guest OS on VirtualBox, both for
work and play.
