Hi guys
I'd like to do the following.
I'm sitting here in Phnom Penh, and I am about to buy a so-called HP EVO 500
laptop with the purpose of running a virtualbox setup. Because of the
confusing HP/COMPAQ machine denominations and nomenclatura, I cannot find
information on whether its WXGA vid

Hi all VBOX users,
VirtualBox version: 1.3.8
Host: Windows XP Home
Guest: Ubuntu 6.10
I can mount and read/write shared folders in ubuntu. However, after I save
and then resumed my guest system, I cannot access the shared folders any
more, it says "unknown type". In addition, if I restart the

Antonio : Very nice !
btw: I have written something similar for SUSE. How do you think,
should we unite our documentation-set, or not, keep it distro-specific
?
You can find my guide here: (this includes bridging too)

It's a lot more stable if you save your files
Hi all !
As I understand, snap-shots are disc-svaed states, while "svaed
states" are hibernation, or RAM-saved states.
I have a question: why not make it so that snapshots will save state
of both RAM *and* Hard Disk, so snapshots can be saved and reverted
back to any working state in a running ma

Thanks for the link, but it seems to be a version
built before the kernel driver was available - unless
the wiki entry is incorrect and there is no kernel
drive

rtld(DT_GNU_HASH) is provided by the glibc from Mandriva Linux 2007
"Spring" edition, not released yet. I'd suggest InnoTek builds with
Mandriva Linux 2007.0 or even 2006.0 [or use -Wl,--hash-style=sys

If I update from 1.3.2 to 1.3.6 do I have to change/update the guestAd
OK, then I will start writing patches for your Official Documentation
in plain-text format.
Where to submit them? Send them to you?

Hello Alexey,
I have read though your documentation, and as it is indeed more a full
guide to using VirtualBox, I decided on balance not to include it in the
HOWTO section. I could perhaps include some of the individual paragraphs.

Hi,
I have been eagerly waiting for a pre-compiled version
of VirtualBox with kernel driver for OSX, so decided
to give it a go myself.
There are several errors with xerces and xalan which
are easily corrected, but the main error now is :
VBoxConsoleView.h:40:27: error: DarwinCursor.h: No

Both 1.3.6 and 1.3.8 manual has this :
10.2.4. No networking in Windows Vista guests
Unfortunately, with Vista, Microsoft dropped support for the virtual AMD PCnet
card that we are
providing to virtual machines. As a result, after installation, Vista guests
initially have no networking.

Hi all,
I'm having stability issues with shared folders on Linux host, Windows
guest. If I try to copy large files from the shared folder or run some
software installer from it, Windows guest crashes and reboots. This
used to happen with 1.3.6, but not is seems to be happening more
often.

I had the same problem. It seems that the RPM was build on Mandriva
2007.1 (Spring eddition) which is not yet officially released
(currently, there is release candidate 1) which can be downloaded from
mandriva site.
Until you install 2007.1 or new RPM is build for 2007.0 edition,
