As I can say that it is full legal to run your Win 7 in Virtualbox. It is in
the Microsoft license.
It depends with what image software you make the image. With Acronis it is
possible.

I believe that what you created is not a boot

I have a prebuilt - WIN7 on my laptop. I selected the backup option and created
the backup image and bootable disk of WIN7.
Now, I want to run that image on the Virtual box, how can I do it? I could see
that the bootable image created by WIN7 was not an ISO format.
