Hi,
I have this mail server with webmail - IMP - that authenticates users
through IMAP, in this case, courier-imap.
courier imap in turn gets the authentication credentials from vpopmail.
*I only have one domain*.
Now, this mailserver belongs to a costumer of mine that is a f* pain in
the ass.
Interestingly when I try the stderr with clamav I get nothing.. well I
do but only the clamav startup, after that it does nothing, the output
doesn't come to stderr, at least not the one I'm attached to!

Hi,
On the inter7 qmailmrtg7 graphs.. what exactly is the msg/hour graph
displaying? I know MRTG takes 5 minute averages but what exactly is
it averaging? I know it's doing the messages.. but how do you do
msg/hour in a 5 minute average? I guess I'm missing some sort of
logic there..
i'm not as experienced as some of the guys on here, but vpopmail should accept just
the login for your primary domain (since you have only one this shouldnt be a
problem).

I just upgraded four servers this morning to 5.4.6, that is not a
configure option that I know of. What vpopmail do you use?

It is displaying the averaged number of messages per hour.

Every 5

My question is: is it possible to configure vpopmail to accept only
foo for the login instead of [EMAIL PROTECTED] ?
Remember i only have one domain in the mail server.
as Greg pointed out, with only one domain it should do this for you
If you are using one of the newer releases just do:
echo mydomain.com /home/vpopmail/etc/defaultdomain
The newer versions read that file and append it to any user name
that does not contain an @ sign.

Hi Jeremy,
Thank you for your tip.
Just curious, but why is it such a big deal to your customer that he use only
the username part of the email address? :)
Don't know.
I guess he's the missing link between the monkey and the homo sapiens
sapiens.
I kid you not :P

Got it.. I just wanted to make sure that I was understanding what it

Since we changed to use mysql auth I have been getting complaints from
users having to enter their password more than once. This is not
consistant, it doesn't happen every time. It seems most prevelent for
users of Eudora or old Outlook Express. Outlook, Netscape Mail, and
Thunderbird do not

It works quite well. I'm surprised you don't take advantage of the FreeBSD
ports. Install vpopmail with the SA flags
