Ok. So it all narrowed down to qmail-local, I think.
So, the qmail-local maildir++ patch doesn't work on NFS (or just doesn't work,
period) is a possibility. So I switched back to my original qmail-local
binary, and modified my /var/qmail/rc script to pipe to deliverquota ./Maildir
as the mail
Problem fixed and on a global basis. Using a few variables, I got one
script working for all vpopmail domains. maildrop now delivers properly to
my vpopmail domains and users. Thanks so much guys!

I am trying to get Maildrop to work with vpopmail/qmail and am having
some difficulty. No matter what I seem to change I receive "Unable to open
mailbox" in the syslog and mail log file with a deferral. I have tried
prettymuch everything, from setting the maildir [in various forms
