This individual will provide deep technical support and leadership for the Business Application Support team. This position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation. Job Requirements : Ability to perform and assist less skilled team members with the following tasks: · Resolution of helpdesk tickets · Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with and share technical expertise with other Siebel technology team members; ability to work independently as well. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to time manage effectively in a dynamic environment, and deliver results when expected. Ability to document strategies and designs for remediation of chronic issues; and present to management with benefit analysis. Experience with Web Servers (IIS 5x or higher) installation and configuration in a Unix & Windows environment. Must poses ITIL process knowledge (certified preferable). Platform/Application support and administration. Knowledge and skills of Siebel Enterprise 7.5 or higher. Application performance tuning (Siebel and Oracle) Experience with Unix shell or Perl scripting, gcc, make, ant, or other open-source tools Knowledge and understanding of LDAP, NIS, DNS. TCP/IP and networking technologies and protocols. Knowledge and skills with Oracle SQL/PLSQL Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues even in unfamiliar environments is an essential skill. Ability to follow and adhere to departmental policies, procedures and standards. Recommend improvement to policies and procedures to management. Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule. Education and Experience Core Skills Responsibility: The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches. The main purpose is to build an excellent basis for operational competency around a newly developed Siebel accelerator. This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions. Interaction: This individual must work effectively with Staff to Sr. Director level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently. The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert. To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others. Education & Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of Siebel experience is required. A minimum of 4 years of Siebel operation’s is required A minimum of 4 years of support is required Experience with all of the following is required Siebel 7.5 or higher Unix – Solaris preferred Oracle 9.2 or above Resonate load balancing IIS Experience of any of the following is desired Weblogic Cisco load balancing A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineer or Computer Sciences, or related technical field required; or equivalent experience in Systems Integration, Computers Sciences, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or related.
