Job Description:

*Overview*:

   - The position is for a developer for the team out in Omaha and it is a
contractor position. I am looking for someone with development and
automation experience to focus on building new tools as well as updating
existing tools. Their tools will be used to help manage the TD Ameritrade
   infrastructure.

*What the Team Does: *

   - Team of 5 in Omaha, team of 5 in Jersey City. Omaha location only.
   - Looking at the way we do things today and looking at automating,
process improvements, and operational excellence opportunities.
   - Looking for people who have developer backgrounds that understand
   infrastructure, but have development backgrounds.
   - Need to be able to write tools to manage 15,xxx servers

*Technologies*:

   - Python & Perl. (back end Python stuff, some Perl. Probably will
rewrite some Perl stuff into Python)
   - NoSQL and document-based data stores like MongoDB.
   - Back end data manipulation, schedule APIs, execute commands at the OS
   level
   - Front end type work: presenting data to users in a much more modern
   way. Modern front end languages.

*Projects/What They’re Working On*:

   - *Patching*. Majority is manual today. Looking for someone who can
help build a front end that reads and presents to users with a schedule for
the servers, asks them if this day works for them to patch the servers, and
make the patching of servers more self-service. Allows server owners to
change date/time/etc. to patch and update servers.
      - Generating Patching Schedule Based on Inventory.
      - Rules based engine interfaced with CMDB to generate schedule for
15,xxx servers based on some rules.
      - Need to push schedule into the tool used to patch using API.
      - Goal: Fully automate patching.
   - *Application Service Management*. Want to create experience for
application owners that lets you log onto a webpage, see your application
and plans, and let you control your process (start/stop/monitor them).
Every morning you have a visualization of what’s running. Modernizing what
   we have.
   - *Extended Validation*: App Owner has a web app who wants to do
synthetic transactions used through web app with certain transaction
results. Will help the application validation to make sure the app is
working. The ability to run these checks after doing server and
   application maintenance.

*Technologies*:

   - Front end will be NODE.JS. (would look at people with Angular.JS)
   - Python & Perl. (back end Python stuff, some Perl. Probably will
rewrite some Perl stuff into Python)
   - NoSQL and document-based data stores like MongoDB.
