I hope that is the case Mark. I think the lack of understanding of NetBackup
while I was away did not help!

We are backing up to a data domain storage

across the network to a Windows media server that has data domain mapped
drives. The storage unit is a disk storage unit that points to the data domain
drive. The polic
I've got an installation that has some automated procedures that use
the output of bpmedialist to schedule some tape moves. One of them
relies on a volume appearing 'FULL'. If I've got a frozen tape, I
don't want to keep using for new backups but I do want this process
to take it out of the jukeb
I had a similar problem with ASA repeatedly crashing. When I called

domain account or local system?' As mine was running with my standard
Veritas domain account, he recommended I change it to local system.
Haven't had a crash since
I ran into the very same problem. I did not have time to work the issue
with Veritas support so I uninstalled MP2 and then reinstalled MP1.
Everything worked fine after that.

Many thanks to Williams and Carlos,
I have make the test and everything working fine !With this solution I could dedicated my Master Server for the speed clients ( with gigabit ) and use a "little machine" Slave Server to staging all the low clients ( with 100Mb/s ).

In Windows NT the share information would remain
constant even if the folder was deleted. That is, you would still have

Is there anyone using NetApp snapshots and then

How do you automate a NetApp's SnapManager for

Tony,
The Share itself is more an object or property of Active Directory than
a file attribute.
As long as the share properties (share name, path, etc.) and permissions
have remained the same, you'll get the folder back, including any NTFS
references to it being shared, when you do your restore.

We are preparing to introduce load balancer to our environment. The
servers it would be balancing are web servers in a private IP range.
Management is discussing things swirling around backups, but what is
coming to the fore now is that NBU would have to go though the balancer,

When a deleted Windows shared folder is restored, do the attributes
that make a shared folder get restored also?
The client is a Windows 2003 server.
The Master server is NBU 5.1MP4 for Solaris

I ended up administratively downing all tape drives.
Not sure why I didn't think about that sooner. Thanks for all of your
