Eric's talking about the update of NetBackup's inventory, not the physical inventory. 4 minutes sounds about right for the physical. But the "logical" NBU inventory update shouldn't take any longer than 60 seconds, even for a fully loaded L700.
Is the robotic control host - the E450 - the NBU M

Restart the system services where the problem is occurring.
Delete the media perhaps from NBU?

I just checked the specs at
https://www.sun.com/storagetek/tape_storage/tape_libraries/l700e/specs.xml
and it states an audit time of less then 4 min.
Personally I see that as a fast Audit time for a library that size.

There are only 10 kinds of people on earth - those who understand binary

We have a Sun StorEdge L700 library with a new install of NetBackup

SCSI connections from a Sun E450, with the library being the only device

Anyone know where I can grab a copy of Veritas' drivers for an ADIC
Scalar i2K robot? After relocating my master this morning, NBU won't
see the robot, which Windows can see and is using ADIC's dummy driver.

So we have one master server, called master which is a robotic control

Then at data center 2, I have another media server there, we'll call is

Thanks, Bob.
The technote described my problem exactly..
I'm planning on migrating to a new server this summer, so I'll make sure
I install NB5.1MP5. Upgrading to NB6.0 is too ambitious for the summer
since major releases change outputs of many administrative commands
I use.
In the meantime

Title: Experiences with DataDomain
We just saw a demo of the DataDomain technology. Anyone using this and if so how? What are your experiences? What would you do differently? Are you using it in SAN config like a library or with IP to each host?
