Another thing I just thought about. Windows 2003 Removable Storage
Service should be disabled too on any clients that are SAN Media Servers or
doing backups via fibre (using SSO)

First I suggest you not to upgrade to 6 until MP5.
Yes you have to upgrade to 5.x first (no patches needed) and then upgrade to
6. And you have to run the nbpushdata command after the upgrade.
BUT before do the final upgrade open a case to veritas support and ask to
check the netbackup database.

We have one separated backup net at our site which is

I am not sure how this will work with our master and

describe. Before start go to church and pray not to have any problem.

I try to retain emails, my apologies on this. I thought there was a post
saying MP3 was ok, but I found your post (dated July) that tells people to
stay away from MP3 :-)
Your post mentions MP4 should be better, but guess we need to wait and see.
Its just a shame 6.0 came out with so many
Well it can cause issues yes :-)
I do have to perform backups via IP, because we are not allowed to use DNS
(secure reasons), so its ok for a small number, but if you have no name
resolution (DNS), you may get a few problems :-)
