Logs will be purged with a STATUS 0 - anything higher will mean the logs remain. So you will need to try and identify what has happened or been skipped. Ideally, you should be doing a DB backup for the logs to be purged. Maybe you could try not doing Mailbox Backups (Brick level backups).

What is the output u get from running it ? I think -show switch is the same as -t on NIX . In this case, the short answer is Both. /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpautoconf -t gets the list of NBU configured devices from /usr/openv/volmgr/database/ltidevs and then talk to those tape drives via SG driver.
