When it hits a session that it has a problem with, the file counts do
not match. It doesn't tell me why. Usually it will give me some type
of media read/write/position error when this happens. I also get a
different error code when this occurs. This just says it is complete

That was not there when the restore was run. It did not have to do any

logs. There is never anything in the ntbackup log either. It just all hangs.

Ok but if you get the error using the internal NTBackup, then ntbackup
normally reports a problem in either the system or application log,
especially where VSS is involved !

I get the same error on base version 6.0 client and 6.0 MP4 client.
I tried to run a system state backup with ntbackup and the same thing happens.
So it looks like it has something to do with the system state on the system.

time of the backup?
Also is the client up to date, running same version of NBU as the master and
maintenance pack ?
