Not a problem. Because we have MANY SQL Servers, with DB's being added all
the time I use the $ALL so I do not have to keep altering the script.
Glad its working

I think that if they are not in the catalog and they are coming from
failed backup images you can simply delete them

Hi
while checking the RMAN log its show that the media manager is throwing the

Most of them come from media manager layer on Netbackup Server. Arjunan is

Well normally in NBU 6.0 your DSU you should have files that look like this :
backup_id_Ccopy_number_Ffragment_id.ctime.*
Use the backup ID part to lookup in you catalog.

I've got a perl script that parses the files in the directory for image name

use it with my DSSUs to make sure they've been duplicated to tape. In your

Is there an Oracle RMAN log? Does not tell me much (this one!)

Hi arjunan
Can this Server see your Netbackup Server by NAME and IP address? Do a PING
test to confirm.
Also, if using DNS, need to ensure its coming back ok
Also, sounds daft, make sure the Oracle DB and client are supported
correctly (just in case).

I just need to verify that the images are in the catalog, not necessarily to be
duplicated to tape. So can i ask you, if your script happened to verified that

When inserting tapes into an ACSLS robot, the robot is not sucking the
tapes into the robot, when I select the cap using SLConsole, I can see the
tapes I put into the cap, but they sit there, any idea why they are not
being sucked into the library?
Justin.
Yes, the cap is in automatic mode.

Justin,
Have you checked to see if there is a running enter command? (query request)
I had this happen before, but I think it was due to running enter when the cap
was in auto mode, so it really messed the library up. I think I had to down ACS
and the database and then kill the enter request

If you want history for the last few days, it's not that tough. If you want
long-term history, you'll need a reporting product. NOM is free although
limited. Commercial products like Aptare's StorageConsole are far more
featured and can give you relatively instant reports over long periods -
The first thing I would say is to use bpimagelist with the appropriate
flags. It goes as far back as you have images, and can be told to list
particular types of backups. One of the fields is size.
I agree that if you want historical reporting, it's easiest if you get a
commercial reporting
