No, that's not what I'm planning to do. Plan is:
1) Create backup of NBU 5.1 installation
2) Deinstall NBU 5.1
3) Install NBU 6.5
4) Configure 6.5

Alex
Hi
Contact your software / symantec sales rep and they should give you a link
to download or send the software to you, and then you should get a key
(trial key of course) that opens up all the features to try.

Hello Trey
Can you tell us how big your database has become. I assume from you note below
that there is only one database for all 6500 clients.
Also can you give us some idea of what kind of hardware you use to support this.
Thanks len

It works with 6.0, I did it earlier this year for our DR test, I haven't tried

If I read you right, you want to backup /usr/openv then uninstall 5.1, install
6.5 and restore the database. If I understand this correctly, then the biggest
problem I see is the restoring of the database, as it needs to be converted to
6.0+ standards. Maybe this can be accomplished after the insta

You don't.
You get the "full version" of the software and a trial license key,
which can be replaced with a perm key at a later date.
Contact your local Symantec Sales office, or VAR/Reseller.

Hi, everyone.
Is there a trial version of NetBackup 6.0 or higher? And where can I download

Thanks.

Ok, I am coming from more of a Unix admin side of the house and trying to
learn more about NBU with Windows. So, for all you Windows NBU admins I
have some questions about snapshots and exclude lists:
1. I know VSP is supposed to be enabled by default, which is better to use

we started not too long ago with Aptare. so far things are ok but the lack of
documentation from Aptare is killing me, taking up some time trying to find
things on my own. we will have about 1100+ clients.

Make sure you know what you're doing,
You'll most probably find /usr/openv is in fact /opt/openv/.
Other than that though I have performed numerous upgrades 5.1 X and my
back out plan has always been an archive of /opt/openv

Also certain reports that involve going back several months and looking at

Hello.
I'd like to upgrade an installation of NBU 5.1 to 6.5. As I'd
like to change quite a bit in the way the system is setup, I'm
actually rather planning a new installation of 6.5, after having
de-installed 5.1.
But to do that, and to have an easy fallback, I'd like to backup
the NBU 5.1 insta
