We've tested doing it in the order you described as well, but after the
recovery the cluster configuration within NetBackup gets messed up as netbackup
looses any knowledge of it being clustered. Once again it appears to be
because the EMM database gets overwritten; this time with the
Does anybody know if there is a limit to how many lines you can have in
the backup streams section of a policy?
I created one and when I look at the job the file list says list
truncated at the end.
I had issues with the backups and I am not sure if it was due to the

Haven't heard of one, but it might be.

I seem to remember reading in the HA guide that going from a non-clustered
server to a clustered server is not supported. Doesn't mean it's not
possible, though. Marianne's suggestion of building the server as a
cluster, then doing a bprecover sounds like it might work. Just make sure

Not that I've ever found.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves with design of NBU:
1) They put it right next to the Cancel Job button.
2) They use EXACTLY the same text when asking you to confirm cancel all
as they do when canceling a single job.
3) The highlight goes away so you are not
Instead of going to actions and cancel, why don't you all just right
click the one job you want to cancel and then choose cancel ( there is
not cancel all in a right click).
( I had to look up what you are talking about because I did not know
there was a cancel all, I just highlight the jobs I
That's also why I hate giving Activity Monitor access to some users
because they can hit the wrong thing by accident. I am very eager to
receive Aptare license and just keep people out of the GUI all together
who don't need to be there -- not that I'm trying to be exclusive, but

Because your method requires me to pull up each individual job and
cancel each individually. Sometimes I'm highlighting a group of related
jobs and canceling those.
On a related note:
If you're doing a series of related jobs (e.g. multiple streams and/or
multiple copies) all started by one
Hi,
I have a Windows 2003 client with 6.5.1 NBU client pkg installed on it. My
master server is a Solaris 10, NBU 6.5.1 server.
The Windows client backups run successfully everytime until it hits the 48%
completed mark. Then it hangs. I cannot even kill the backup and have to reboot

Check your barcode rules, or use the vmchange command to force it to HCART.

Sounds like either a networking issue with the client, or a timeout issue
caused by the client software not being able to read a file, or getting hung up
on a directory with a lot of little files in it.
Try defrag checkdisk on the client and see if it hangs too.
