We have a Netbackup upgrade planned from 6.5.3 to 7.0. Can anyone please
confirm if device mappings file will get updated during this upgrade or we will
have to update them manually.

We just upgraded one of our master server to 7.0.1 from 6.5.6. We leared to run
the consistency check, shut it all down, bring it all back up, run the check
again to make sure that we were sure, and THEN upgraded. All device mappings
were fine after the upgrade.

You don't really have to do all this to disable SAN Client
functionality on a NetBackup client. These steps are to delete a SAN
Client from the configuration.
All you have to do is, on NetBackup GUI go to -
Media and Device Management Devices SAN Clients (select your
client) SAN

was one of the first things we tried. No success until we did what we did.

I converted LTO1 tapes to LTO4 tapes using bpduplicate. LTO1 tape read with
LTO2 tape drives (compressed) and write to LTO4 tape drives (compressed). The
result were some of the images have the same size and some have smaller size.
