Have you enabled windows open file backups option in netbackup for this
client. If yes try disabling.

Do you have the latest tape configuration files on your NetApp?
Run a "storage show tape supported" on the filer and check. I ran a quick check
on mine and don't see any LTO5 drives listed as supported (OnTap 7.3.1.1).
Check NOW for updated "tape_config"
In which library are the drives installed? If these are fibre drives then you
must also map them to the server from the tape library as well as zoning them
in via the switch. That is to say libraries (as do fibre disk arrays) have
ways to set permission to specific drives to specific hosts.

I have an issue where we have a W2k8 master server on 7.0.1. I am trying to
backup a W2k3 client. It has the client software, patched and the VSS hotfix
installed. When a backup starts it does the usual and then when it gets to
writing to tape it just sots there forever until cancelled with
