We are currently doing testing with Netbackup 7.0 (currently on 6.5.4) and when
I tested the command it worked fine. We are on a Solaris master server, if that
makes any difference.

Unfortunately I cannot suggest a resolution to the issue, however I will note
that we just upgraded from 6.5.3 to 6.5.4, and I updated my desktop Java
Console to 6.5.4 as well, and everything has been working fine since. In fact,
in comparison, the 6.5.4 version of the java console "seems", so f
We have long ago "solved" (as best anyone can solve this architectural
shortcoming) the handling of pre/post script with multi-stream backups.
Our environment consists of Solaris master and media servers (unix). We
only have a small number of hosts that use multi-streaming due to their
large size (
I have run into an issue during testing of NB 6.5.3 that I wanted to
share with the group. Perhaps someone else running 6.5.3 can try and
duplicate the problem and help determine whether this is a furreal
problem, or something peculiar about our environment. Here is the
scenario:

Pat,
We backup a Celerra (NS80G) with dedicated tape drives and also perform
a weekly full and daily incremental. We've not had to concern ourselves
with ctime/mtimes of files - just set the policy schedule to an
incremental type (we run diffs) and let 'er rip. We do VBB backups of

I have two Solaris 10 media servers attached to an ACS library (via

There is an engineering binary fix (bpdbm) for the compressed
catalog/restore issue with MP5. We have requested the binary, have it in
place and it took care of the problem. Of course this is all the more
proof (like we need more) that Symantec's QA testing of their product
stinks, but I assume al
We've recently acquired a Sun T2000 for use as a media manager to
replace an old and dying Ultra450. The server configuration is as

For what it's worth I have also had a strong need for the same report
functionality. We use the Notes field to document failures for critical servers
as part of SOX compliance reporting. Having a simple way to generate a list of
failures for a server group with any attached Notes is part of our
