I need to migrate my NB 5.1 master server off an old Redhat 7.1 machine to
a new machine running Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise 5.
Is there a document floating about for preserving things and migrating them
to a new server?
Thanks

I have a hundred or so DLT IV tapes that were in a different/unknown
tape stacker. I need to get them cleaned up so that my Overland machine
will properly see them. Will a simple erase (mt -f /dev/st0 erase) clean
them up enough to be seen by the newer DLT tape machine or do I need to
have them deg
NB 5.1 see's my devices as separate. The robot shows that no drives
are available and the drive is showing up as a stand alone. Here are
my system stats. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

On one of our tape backup systems, we keep getting the following errors in
NBU 5.1. I am curious if this is caused by a bad termination on the tape device.
The first backup to tape goes perfectly, while seeking to the second

Here is what I do, always seems to work for me.
Expire the image, where A3 is the volume name.
./bpexpdate -ev A3 -d 0
I then go into the GUI and delete the images, I do this because I am not
sure how to do that part command line.

Reading the mails coming through this thread, I get the impression that most
folks use the CLI more than the java gui, is this true and why? Just a curious
semi-newbie question.

I am having trouble getting my old Exabyte EXB210 to work in NB 5.1 using
Red Hat 7.2 as the media server. I know the robot is old and whatnot but it is
indeed in the list of supported robots and I have used it recently in another
setup so I know the robot and drive to be good.
