i am moving from some solaris servers where i have scripts and even snmp
alerts when drives are down... but not too familiar on the windows side
are there any resources or repositories for scripts dealing with email
alerts when a drive is down.. maybe something with output and parsing with
tpconfi

Install a unix client - try "cygwin" , and then copy your scripts and
adjust them to the new environment.
Alternatively dust off the old MS-DOS manuals and learn BASIC all over
again, and configure the Wintel scheduler.
