To make backups using VCB do you need a VMWare proxy server, this server
runs only in windows. You can to install a SAN media in this proxy server to
make backups using oly SAN.

I suspect politics over technology. The LVM layer in windows, I
believe, is a port of Veritas VM. I suspect that there's a deal that
says "All new tech must work on Windows" - since it's hard to port from

Yep. There is a good admin guide on this subject.
You will need a MEDIA SERVER Windows 2003 SP2 Box to become the VCB
Proxy Server for VMWare.
There is also a flash demo somewhere on the Symantec site as well, which
gives more info.

Unfortunate
Unfortunately you VCB proxy has to be Windows 2003. The way to make life
easiest is for it to also be a media server, but it's not a requirement.
I've never understood why a company that has used the Linux kernel so
much makes all their management tools only available on Windows..

Nope, you have to have a Windows 2003 server to act as the VCB Proxy Server
(VMware requirement). Ideally that server will also be a media server, but it
doesn't have to be

Hi Greg,In my last site we ran everything on VCS so we setup our master server as a clustered application within that framework and NetBackup has all the scripts to install on cluster nodes - this gives you cover for local hardware failure. To cover us for site failure we used VVR/GCO in async mode
then you'd need one
Exchange license for the actual exchange instance.

Try adding to your Media Server "vm.conf" file:
