Looks like Gudebrod may be back in business.
Just received an announcement a supplier and they expect new stock to start
arriving mid winter. This was for rod wrapping thread so not sure what else

I have had good results dying black with hackle that was first dyed olive. Used
Rit (powder) dye. Tried the liquid but it did not work well.

I got the skin from local taxidermist for about half of the current wholesale
value.
Have a tying materials wholesaler that may take 1/2 and the rest will be cut up
and sold in sections. Likely 6 x 6 ($30) and 12 x 12 ($120)

Why not just remove a bit of the outer fly line using lacquer thinner and just
making the loop in the core ?? No knots, shrink tubing or anything else.
