Wes, i have the book, and it's a really good book.......i use the very first
fly in the book very often to demonstrate at shows so newbies can not only
learn how easy it is to tye a fly that REALLY catches fish, but so they can
also learn a really fast, highly effective extended body pattern. When doin'
the fly in front of people, you wanna REALLY emphasize how you cannot pick it
out to much. Can't be done.......pick, pick, pick, then pick it out.......and
for fun, pick it out again. And ANY bead will work long as it's the right size.
Copper, gold, silver, black, cone, tungston.....it matters NOT! Great fly, and
it catches any and everything. Also make sure you emphasize to twist the first
loop "TO" (but not beyond), the breaking point, but NOT to do that with the
second loop. The second loop should be twisted less, and not TO tightly wraped.
mark.....
