Hi Tony:
I am very surprised that as a person that likes fishing (and building)
bamboo rods, that you don't fish dry flies. I enjoy fishing dries, but I
must admit that the bigger fish usually fall to nymphs and streamers. Is it
beacuse the water you fish is more suited to wet flys, nymphs & stre
ar.
After getting a few Trout on dry flies the last couple of times off the dock, I
am hooked. I have to get a day on the White and give it a real try.

Trying to extract myself and my float tube from the lake proved to
be even harder than getting in it.
I hate lakes with mud bottoms. I went wading in one - once! That was enough.

I use my fins. The knee really does work great, 4 months seemed to be
the magic number. All pain is gone, the only task left to have a
normal knee is building up muscle strength: my left calf (it was my

That seems like an odd way to fish a fly.

I was fishing two rods but only one fly per rod. We are allowed to do that in
BC if alone in a boat, but we cannot have more than one fly per rod. I fished a
floating line with a 23 foot 6 pound fluorocarbon leader on the main rod and
the sinking line for just part of the trip as stated below. I
I was using a Canadian made (grin) Scotty rod holder, but I also use Scotty
anchor pulleys. I used the anchor pulley mount for the rod holder, but it was
not conveniently located and too far away from the middle seat, hence, I always
got there a bit too late. I need to set up a couple of better

OK, but you’ll have to stay in the house-boat guest-room, moored at my dock,
next to the cook-out garden area and pool. ;o)
