fished Diamond Lake, it has always been with a tiny gold-colored treble
hook with a ball of Velveeta Cheese, fished about 1 1/2 ft off the
bottom with a split-shot about 18" up the line. You won't see many
people using fly rod

I would use a weighted wolly bugger or egg sucking leech. I would add more
weight than usual if you are using a regular pole.

As far as the lake is concerned, use a marabou jig w/ just about anything
tied on an 18" trailer.
