My question to the group: Any suggestions for a reliable dealer in the
New York area with prices in the same range as B H? Or Boston? I've
been dealing up until now exclusively with B H so I have no experience
with alternates.
Ive never heard of another place like BH. Best prices around,
No surprise here really. This research concludes that it's worth it
for Google to pay the enormous Youtube cost's of serving free video
since it brings so much traffic to the web. It's lile grocery stores
losing money on eggs to get you into the store. It's a loss leader.
I just saw that both Seesmic and Imeem have decided to stop
accepting/hosting videos for people.

It's interesting that Seesmic is closing down video since that was

The Pirate Bay dudes have created an experiment in using the video
tag in HTML5. You must download one of the newer browser versions

I would suggest going to a rental shop in your area or nyc. They are more

What do you think would have happened to youtube if it wasnt aquired by a
mega-company?
Sure, it would have raised multiple rounds of investment to stay alive and
figure out how to monetize.
They would have had to launch their own ad platform, probably similar as
google's auction based AdWords.

I made a promise to myself that I will never buy anything from BH no matter
how desperate I am to get something or whether other stores don't carry what I
want to get. BH simply became arrogant in their customer service as they
achieved power. Let me explain; I have a Strida folding bike and
This year will be the most informative in terms who's truly innovative in
online video hosting. I had a hunch that seesmic or imeem would not be around
for long simply by initially checking out their UI and user experience. Not
that I am happy that they are folding, but this is another example
I´ve never been to NY, but my first visit will probably include a trip to
BH - everyone talks about that store.
I understand your frustration, and you are right - its no small amount of
money and you´re going to be stuck with that camera for a bit of time.
But... if it makes you feel

I think it’s weird that there’s nothing between iMovie 06 and Final
Cut Pro. iMovie 08 and 09 is way to basic, and doesn’t have a good
enough precision.
I loved iMovie 06. Easy to use and fast. iMovie 08 and 09 works
