I would like to take a moment to start this discussion, obviously a very
important one to
independent creators in this new media marketplace. I don't think I completely
understand how it works. Great content is scarce and the more hype and buzz
around the
medium, the more the best creators will be sought out. I'm already being
approached on
all angles to make custom content, sell content I've already made and I feel
like I need to
play catchup before I give away the ship.

First of all, is there a good guide online already? Good legal blogs? Has
anyone covered
these topics in depth?

I have questions that need answering. For example, if you 'license' your
Internet TV show
to someone, what are some typical rights you grant? How much are they worth?
Can you
limit the amount of time your give someone exclusivity? If you do grant some
kind of
exclusivity, what prevents you (or someone else) from uploading it to YouTube?
Is there a
licensing model that might allow content to be uploaded to multiple sites? In
that case,
who 'owns' it? What do you grant to a 'sponsor'?

Maybe someone can shed light on how a production studio licenses shows to
television?
How does that work?

Obviously, this is just the tip of the iceberg. And these might be million
dollar questions.
Any media lawyers in the house? You blogging? What are your experiences?

Maybe I need an agent. :)

Thanks, y'all!
