Yeah, man. I saw that. The resurgence is due to Loren stepping
outside of the Echo Chamber with his Verizon deal and exposing himself
to people who don't give a damn about Social Media AT ALL, but DO CARE
who companies that they patronize associate with... as well as what
those people appear to
But the question I really want answered: Who the heck actually uses V-Cast?
Enquiring minds want to know!

Ah, this line from that:
This is especially disturbing at a time when African-American
students can be stigmatized by other African-American students if
they're too obviously diligent about school.
I went to high school late 80s, and this was the case, back then. Is
there a term for this? When
Just watched it, and, egads, that's some cringe inducing stuff.
I'm glad this discussion is happening, because I don't we talk about
racism enough in this country. And it's not always easy to talk about
it. But we should, because it causes so much misery. Our country is
shot through with
1.the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing,
or deriding vice, folly, etc. 2.a literary composition, in verse or prose,
in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.
3.a literary genre comprising such compositions.
i had the same thought.
everyone's been saying that it'd be ok if it was funny.
i don't know about that. i'm not one to be po-faced, but what other
levels are at work here that make it any smarter or more valid than
it appears? none, as far as i can see. so why bother to do it?
oh,
it's not ok
it has never been ok
and it can never be ok

i just left a a comment at his blog which said what i said here. i
wish i hadn't. the comments section is quite depressing. lots of
comments, all predictable, which won't persuade anybody of anything.
he must be loving it, and i don't really feel like being the cause of
any pleasure to
Yeah, ya'all this video is totally racist. I find it very strange we
now live in a world where many want to say hey it's ok with me and
that's not racist, just lame. Yes, it is a bad video, lame, etc.
But also — it is racist. It plays on and depends on racist stereotypes.
Let's just call it

Hey Jen,
Thanks a lot for this :-)
I couldn't find the right words.
This reverse racism thing is real. And, in my opinion, it's what's going
on a lot in comedy today under the guise of insult comics. (carlos
mencia, lisa lampanelli, etc.)*
Thanks,
lisa
ps. Remember triumph the insult dog?
I just watched the video.
It was sickening.
I'm getting sick and tired of people who are outrageous
getting all the chatter on television and the web. People have mentioned
Carlos Mencia in this
thread a couple of times, I'm Hispanic and find him highly offensive.
It's almost come to a place

Hi Bill
I was wondering what you may think, as a resident African American

I couldn't watch the whole thing - didn't think it was funny. his eyes

have a rant on the net. could be wrong but that's how I saw it.. I think
he's getting too much attention now.

As regards it would be OK if it was funny (or words to that effect...), as
someone who dabbles in comedy, that can sometimes be shorthand for you get

worked the rant as a subversive (like Stepin Fetchit). Oh yeah he needed to

I don't think Feldman video is purposefully being racist.
The problem is that it's not funny. I don't mean that being
politically incorrect is not funny in and of itself. I mean that
comedy is hard to do. Insightful satire is hard to do.
And if you are going to do something that pushes
It was offensive only because it wasn't funny. I have to admit,
though... Nigg.com made me laugh, so it wasn't all bad :P
