If you're willing to spend a little on a mount, I highly suggest one
from PowrGrip (www.powrgrip.com) because you can mount it inside or

Ditto on the wide-angle lens. I've found in a closed car, that the
in-camera microphone seems to do the trick (obviously depends on your
camera)-- though any back-seaters might have to speak-up a bit! Else,
you could try a shotgun microphone (also useful if your car moans and
groans like mine).
A wide angle lens is invaluable for this. Also a mini-tripod mounted
in a cup holder is helpful depending on where the cup holder is. But
I can place my cam on my dash and shoot with a wide angle lens and
it works great (just tape the camera down or something).
