Hello,

Do you have the very latest version of QT Pro (7.1)? There's a 'check for
update' option in the menus somewhere, depending on whether you are on a
Mac or a PC.

Once you've checked, and updated if necessary, go to freevlog.org to find out
more. Verdi has posted great tutorials ... and there's one there titled
"QuickTime 7.1" that links to all the other posts you'll need, most notably the
"post from last fall". Hey, I even get a mention in there somewhere!

A few basics ... yes, the iPod preset in QT Pro is bloated. You need to export
an MP4 and dig into the settings to change the codec to H.264 and the profile
to baseline. Tweaking the bitrate etc. will allow you to produce a smaller file.

You can also create a plain (non-H.264) file, or a 3ivx one if you have that
codec. Ahhh, I'm going into too much depth. Go look at Verdi's site.

All the best,
Waz
