USe soundtrack -- normalize the track. That's the best way (or
normalize in any sound software that will let you.) That function
leaves the quiet part quiet and pulls the loudest part up to full
volume stretching out the amount of space between those two. IE:

http://www.gigavox.com/levelator)? I am not an expert with it, but have had
some success with multiple audio sources in podcasts.

of news clips. Some of the sound volumes on the clips are pretty low.
There *must* be a way to bump up the sound levels, but I haven't found it.
When I open the clips in Quicktime, they are already at the maximum sound level.
