Steve you are dead right, Gspot also claims the video to be recommended
playback 6912 x 384 (super stretched). Not sure how that happened as it
was encoded in WinFF, possibly I typed the preset wrong. Plays ok in
most other players for me so didn’t notice the error till I tried VLC.
Thanks for finding this. No this video was done before I discovered
MainConcept and was meant to be encoded at 704 x 384.

Anyone have any ideas on a quality fast start and Ipod workflow out of
Vegas?

Heath, do you encode for Ipod and fast start out of Vegas in the formats
on your site or use Blip Pro ?

Not sure. Assuming the following file was made using this method, I
tried to test it:

HYPERLINK
"http://blip.tv/file/get/Rambooc1-MadMooloolaba980.mp4"http://blip.-tv/f
ile/get/-Rambooc1--MadMooloolaba980-.mp4

But I had very big problem with that file. Both Quicktime & VLC think
the resolution of that video is 6912x384, which causes a hugely
stretched mess when I try to play it back. I guess its not just me
that will have this problem - any ideas?

But yeah in general I had heard MainConcept are pretty good at writing
encoders. They have been aquired by DivX so who knows what will happen
in future. Bear in mind that AVC is just another name for h264, so you
are creating the same type of video, just the encoder is better at
doing its job.

Cheers
