[Videolib] Looking for The Yellow Ticket

2011-05-10 Thread Ball, James (jmb4aw)

If you're looking for the 1917 (or so) film with Pola Negri, I believe the National Center for Jewish Film has it from Kevin Brownlow. If not, then I would go to Kevin directly. Or, since Harvard has it, you might want to check with the Harvard Film Archive. Dennis Milestone Film & Video On Tue,

In this case they are looking for 1931 sound version and the Harvard copy would not be if you will excuse the phrase kosher. I am pretty sure both Eastman & LOC have copies available for viewing. On Tue, May 10, 2011 at 10:47 AM, Dennis Doros wrote: > If you're looking for the 1917 (or so) film

[Videolib] FW: streaming clips

A question for those who are streaming clips under the limits described below; have you formulated or found a source for fair use guidelines for clips in terms of duration, portion of the whole, number from a single film, etc? Or just going case by case... Thanks, Jeff Univ of Michigan

Well, there are the CCUMC guidelines, which have big problems, I think, in terms of being overly proscriptive... Not much else. I think case by case is the way to go. My general mantra to faculty is always: "Shorter is Better; Fewer is Better." I usually start to balk if the quantity is over 3
