Hi folks -
I have a few colleagues trying to track down some PPR for television. The
works we're looking for are:
Doctor Who
Sharknado
The librarian looking at Doctor Who has tried the BBC and they have been
unresponsive.
Thanks!

In general BBC is VERY, VERY protective of any public shows of Dr. Who. It
may well be difficult to impossible to license. As a side note they are
somewhat preoccupied with a huge world wide event on 11/23 to celebrate the
50th Anniversary which may explain delay in responding.
Good luck and
After seeing if film archives and other film collectors want any of them,
contact recycling companies. We had a local company take the leftover films,
reels, and racks they had been stored on.

Hi All,
Can anyone suggest places I might look for exercise programs on DVD that could
be used for library programming (i.e., with PPR)? We have a group that has
been participating in a Wii Zumba program at the library for a while and they
would like to try something different. Most of the
Hi all,
Does anyone know if a DVD copy of the French film on teaching, A Passion
for Life is available? It's a 1951 feature film, I believe. I don't
think it's even officially in distribution anymore, but I'm only seeing
VHS copies anyway. If no DVD is available, does anyone know who to

I'd suggest a BBC-WGBH coproduction, the series The Machine that Changed the
world.
It is very extensive, and if you look at the summaries, you may find exactly
what you need.
We only have it on VHS. I haven't checked to see if it's avail on DVD.

Sadly this falls right into the issue I was posting about yesterday, the
overwhelming majority of non US films not being in distribution in the US.
Brandon films is long gone and even if they ever had legit rights they
would be expired. I suspect Water Bearer may have distributed as a Public

This may be longer and more specifically focused than you seek but definitely

Um that is the standard US version it may have French TITLES but it is
DUBBED in English so that is not what Debra is looking for.
I saw on the web some reference to a French copy with English titles
available in France but I really don't see more than passing unsourced
post. There seems to have
OOPS just checked with WB and they say the DVD IS in French with titles
UNLESS as happens in parts of the film the characters are SPEAKING in
English. Amazon is WRONG.
It used to be really hard to see a 35mm print that was not dubbed.
sorry for the faulty intel.

I have the personal assurance by top person at WB that DVD in print HAS
subtitles except for those parts of the film where characters actually
speak in English. If you read the Amazon listing it is somewhat vague by
using the word dubbed in the format .
Shorter answer YES , BUT IT . GREAT FILM
Merci beaucoup for all for your support and helping to interpret the nuances of
this listing. I can now face the rest of the week with calm.
Yes, I love Day for Night and I'm so happy this version is finally available.
