Hi everyone,
Thanks for the responses. A couple of things I could have added- I did
call our registrar and they suggested I call admissions to try to track
this email to an actual student, and I did consider emailing back asking
for a little more evidence to back up the identity of the requester.
I kind of admire the evil genius aspect but i would assume all of you guys
would check on requests for pricey items ( this one seems to be $300) even
if it comes from a legit student.

the collection, this kind of dishonest marketing would make me not want

Can you check with your Registrar's office or personnel to see if they have
accepted her as a student?
This may be the case of an especially eager student who is totally
organized. Or not...
